     Hello, 

    I am newer user of Autel equipment and encountered an issue today. I was attempting to program a regular blade key to 2017 Kia Sportage. It read the VIN and auto detected the vehicle but when I tried to get into any part of the immobilizer even just status it kept saying it could not communicate with ECU. 

    Any ideas or help what could cause this?

    Try checking the fuses for any that say Smart Key, BCM, DLC, or OBD.

    Had a KIA the other day 2 of the above mentioned fuses were blown (7.5 & 10 amp) and that prevented connecting to ECU.
